ASALJIE appreciates the untiring efforts of Joseph O.D. Cole, A Freetown-based lawyer and human rights activist, who continues to fight tooth and nail for the rights of journalists in Sierra Leone.

ASALJIE continues to remember the kindness and resililence of UNHCR official Hans Lunshof in his fight for the rights of refugees in Conakry, Guinea. Through his endurance sanity was briught into the hitherto chaotic UNHCR office in Guinea (2000-2002).
